FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Booking process
I wrote an email and did not hear back. What now?
We ALWAYS reply to emails.
If you don’t hear back from us, please try these steps:
Check your spam/junk folder.
Our message may have ended up there by mistake. If you still can’t find anything, something probably went wrong.
Please reach out to us again and make sure you entered your email address correctly or just Whatsapp us.
Why do I need to fill all the questions in the booking form?
We ask those questions because we want to know how to contact you if needed, and because we want to create an experience that you’ll really enjoy. That’s the only reason. We don’t store, use or misuse the information we receive. That’s a promise (and a legal requirement here in the EU).
Not a fan of forms? No problem. You can always email or Whatsapp us directly!
Are the tours suitable for children or teenagers?
We’re very happy to welcome families. Children are absolutely invited and treated as full participants on our tours. You know your child best, but if you’re not sure whether the experience is the right fit, feel free to reach out. We’ll gladly help you choose the most suitable tour for you.
Are solo travelers welcome?
Flying solo? No worries.
We love welcoming solo travelers!
Just keep in mind that our regular tours require at least two participants (unless you book a private tour). Especially during the off-season, it’s a good idea to reach out to check if your preferred date and time can be accommodated. We’ll always contact you in advance to discuss options and make sure we can find a solution that works.
Do you offer private tours?
Our regular Go Bratislava tours host maximum 8 guests.
If you’d like a private experience or teambuilding, just send us an email and we’ll arrange something special for you. Have a group larger than ten? No problem. Contact us and we’ll be happy to work out a solution.
How I can pay?
You can pay in advance via invoice or in cash (EUR) after the food tour.
Food Tours
I am a vegetarian/vegan/lactose intolerant/celiac. Are the food tours for me?
Vegetarians, celiacs, and guests with lactose intolerance: yes, usually with some adjustments.
Vegans: unfortunately, traditional Slovak cuisine relies heavily on dairy, so options are very limited. But don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about you! We’ve created the Bratislava Vegan Food Tour especially for our plant-based foodies, and it is the perfect fit for you.
We do our best to accommodate all preferences, allergies, or restrictions while still giving you an authentic taste of Slovak cuisine. Expect a slightly different menu if you’re vegetarian, celiac, or lactose intolerant.
If you have multiple restrictions, just send us an email. We’ll let you know if we can adapt the tour to suit your needs. Our goal is always to make sure everyone is happy.
I don't drink alcohol. Can I get a discount?
In Slovakia, where beer is often cheaper than water, non-alcoholic drinks can actually be more expensive, but you don’t need to worry about that. We offer a non-alcoholic alternative at every stop, always at no additional charge.
Are the food tours all-inclusive?
Yes. Our food tours are all-inclusive. We take care of all the payments, so you don’t need to bring extra money. (We even handle tipping on your behalf!) And yes, there’s also a tasty farewell gift.
What is not included?
Any extra purchases you might want to make during the tour are not included. This includes food and drinks beyond what we provide (some substitutions are included, but if you want champagne at every stop, well, that’s on you!).
Transportation to the meeting point and from the last stop to your next destination is also not included.
How much food is there on your food tours?
A lot! Over the course of our tours you will stop at multiple locations with tastings in each. This generally equates to a large lunch or dinner. You won’t leave hungry or thirsty, we promise!
Do you offer any off-the-beaten-path tours in Bratislava?
Yes! While our classic food tours cover the iconic landmarks and historic highlights of the city, our Retro Food & Communist Era History Tour is designed for those seeking an authentic local experience. It takes you beyond the main tourist routes to genuine neighborhood spots frequented almost exclusively by locals, where you can sample nostalgic, retro-style food and discover what daily life was really like during the Communist era in Czechoslovakia.
Tour Logistics & Experience
How big are the tour groups?
We keep our groups intentionally small—usually up to 8 guests. This ensures a personal, engaging experience where you can easily hear the guide, ask questions, and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere rather than feeling like part of a massive crowd.
Where does the tour start and end?
The tour starts right in the heart of the Old Town, and we always provide the exact meeting point in your confirmation email after booking. The tour ends in the central area as well, within easy walking distance of public transport, cafes, or your hotel.
How much walking is involved, and is the pace suitable for everyone?
The pace is unhurried and relaxed. We cover a comfortable distance through Bratislava with plenty of stops to sit down, taste food, and chat. We always move at the speed of the slowest member of the group, so it is suitable for anyone with a normal fitness level. If you have any serious health conditions or mobility concerns, please let us know in advance and we will be happy to accommodate you.
Family & Pets
Are children allowed on the food tours?
Yes, families with children are welcome! However, please keep in mind that our standard tours involve a few hours of walking and a specific tasting menu focused on local culinary culture. If you are traveling with very small children or toddlers, we recommend reaching out to us via email beforehand so we can discuss the best options for your family.
Can I bring my dog along on the tour?
Even though your guide is a huge animal lover, dogs and other pets are technically welcome to join the tour, but they must remain tied up outside of the restaurants and indoor food establishments we visit. (Service animals are welcome to join inside.)

Late arrivals & cancellation
How late can I be?
Please be on time, but we usually wait for 10 minutes, then we go. If you’re running late but still want to join, please call us. We’ll let you know where and when you can meet us to join the tour.
How bad does the weather have to be for the tour to be cancelled?
Our tours run rain or shine, so light rain is never a problem. We only cancel in the case of extreme weather conditions that would make the tour unsafe, such as strong storms or severe flooding. We kindly ask you to look at the weather forecast and dress appropriately. If a cancellation is necessary, we’ll notify you as early as possible and help arrange an alternative date.
How can I cancel my tour?
You can cancel your tour by sending us an email at info@gobratislava.com or by messaging us on WhatsApp at +421 907 549 248.
What is your cancellation policy?
We know that travel plans can change unexpectedly. To keep things simple and stress-free, we’ve updated our cancellation rules to be as fair as possible:

Last-Minute Cancellation: If the booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled date and time, no refund can be issued. However, we’ll still send you all our local tips and recommendations to make sure you enjoy your stay anyway!
That’s it. Simple and transparent!
Please note: (1.) Transaction Fees & Exchange Rates: Refunds are sent in the exact amount received. We are not responsible for any differences caused by foreign exchange fluctuations or fees charged by your bank and/or payment processors during the refund process.
