WHAT’S INCLUDED?

Bratislava’s history is baked right into its culinary traditions, and the best way to understand it is through the recipes that survived generations. Moving between hidden cafés and authentic local spots directly within the historic old town, you will track the city’s multicultural past through its flavors.

This experience is a genuine look behind the scenes of Slovak food culture, combining architecture and history with real local flavors. You will hear the stories of old Pressburg, see how Central European influences shaped today’s food, and experience the city like a local, well away from the tourist crowds.

FAQ

What should I wear or bring?

Comfortable shoes, a good mood and an appetite. Arrive hungry and save room for dessert!

How much walking is involved?

Not much. We stroll between cafés and pastry shops, about 1 mile (1.6 km) in total, at a relaxed pace. If you have mobility issues, let us know in advance and we’ll adapt the route.

Will I get tired of all the sweets?

Not at all! We’ve carefully designed the food tour to keep your experience perfectly balanced. It’s definitely not just a non-stop sugar rush. We pace the tastings thoughtfully and pair the delicious cakes and pastries with refreshing drinks and coffee to cleanse and refresh your palate along the way.

Do you accommodate vegans and vegetarians?

Yes! Vegetarians can fully enjoy the experience. Vegans might find it a bit more challenging since many Slovak desserts use dairy, but let us know your preferences by WhatsApp or email, and we’ll do our best to prepare something tasty for you too.

Lactose intolerant, celiac or other dietary needs: is this tour for me?

Usually yes. With some advance notice, we can adapt most dishes. Just email us your dietary requirements, and we’ll make sure you can enjoy the tour comfortably. Keep in mind that our goal is to showcase authentic Slovak sweets, so options may be limited for some restrictions.

Just expect a slightly different menu if you’re vegan, celiac or lactose intolerant. If more than one of these applies to you, email us first and we’ll tell you honestly whether the tour works for you.

Who will be my guide?

Jakub, the founder of Go Bratislava and a licensed local guide. He leads every tour personally, so the person who answers your booking request is the one waiting for you at the meeting point.
